Stanley is a prolific poet with numerous appearences both within and outside of the sf/f/h genres.This collection is an interesting mixture of poems both within and outside of the three genres.However I would say that a theme of urban despair seems to be the common element that unify them as well as the sparsness of his language.

I was especially l impressed by 'Urban Surrender '
...
Yellow Tape.
Shell casings, circled and numbered.
Sidewalk blood splattered.
Chalk outline whewre the body fell.

Though this is the first paragraph of the poem, it easily can stand alone.

The collection is recommended.
