BLOOD WALLAH AND OTHER POEMS by Robert Borski ( Colusa, CA,2011, Dark Regions ) ISBN978-1-937128-12-8, $9.95
this is the first poetry collection by prolific poet Robert Borski. Previously the poet published two collections of critical essays on Gene Wolfe. Borski's style is a lean and brittle style of mannered decadence that harks to mainstream lifgt fantasy writers like Thorne Smith and Ogden Nash.
Many but not all the poems make the comparison of blood to wine. The first three lines of the title poem ' Blood Wallah' is an excellent illustration of this theme in the collection.
' While non-hemophiles may disagree
it is easily the most complexbeverage
there is in terms of depth ...'
